Whether we reach 100 plus employees or stay as a small team, our sentiment on creating connections will always remain at the forefront. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lately, in the background at MH we have been helping people with their job applications and developing some pretty impressive resumes (if we do say so ourselves) because we want to make a positive impact on people who are searching for work in the current climate and also, yep, you guessed it, connections!!
Have you ever felt overwhelmed and underwhelmed simultaneously? It is striving for perfection in all the roles we play and chasing ideals that aren’t fundamentally achievable because there is never an end to them. The expectations continue to change, shift and we continue to chase to keep up, we become overwhelmed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re underwhelmed at the same time because we’re chasing the wrong things. We haven’t stopped long enough to really understand where our attention and energy should be focussed to reap the rewards we know are out there for us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s the combination of these two things that pull us in opposite directions and leave us fighting to gain clarity among the fog of feeling overwhelmed and underwhelmed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our workshops are designed to help you to gain control over this feeling and provide you with the tools to recognise when it is happening in your life, and develop strategies to address areas you want to change/ tur
We are often engaged by team leaders or business owners to run workshops with their teams or departments within businesses to facilitate various outcomes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When departments and teams begin to operate in silos and are disengaged with one another, productivity, engagement and overall output suffers. With restrictions in Victoria being put in place once again, we are reminding ourselves this Monday of what we have learnt from lockdown and what we will no longer take for granted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As some of us tentatively move into our ‘new normal’ we have found two things of importance to ensure we are keeping sane during these unpredictable times. Connection and choice. Two things that we have perhaps taken for granted before lockdown that we will make sure we are aware and grateful for moving forward. We were recently engaged to recruit an Office Administrator for a Melbourne based plumbing company. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We advertised the position and received over 1200 applications from people who were hunting to find job opportunities given the current job climate in Australia. We reviewed each and every application with care and once we offered the position, we were focussed on reaching as many applicants as possible to provide helpful tips and tricks from an HR/recruitment perspective. We filmed a 20-minute video, which you can watch on our website, that was sent out to each applicant. This video was solely created to help give as many people valuable information on how to put themselves in the best position throughout the recruitment process as possible. What are some of your own values that you will never compromise on? When we started MH, we knew it was imperative that we developed clear foundational values, or what we call, cultural principles. These are action-based sentiments that help to shape our decision making, they represent how we like to engage with people and what we like to receive from people in return. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our eight cultural principles are the fundamental building blocks to which we have built MH on.

People interpret the same information differently. Fact. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few days ago, we shared an image on our socials and asked people how they interpreted what they saw. The response? A myriad of different perceptions based on their own experiences and ideals that shape who they are. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We run activities with businesses and teams to demonstrate how you can provide the same information, projects or direction to a group and it will always be interpreted by everyone slightly differently based on their own set of values, experiences and ways of learning. We enhance businesses and teams by designing their practices and processes to align with each individual. Ensuring businesses are built embracing all that each person brings with them is key!
