Cultural Principles

Cultural Principles are often referred to as ‘values’. So why not just call them values? In Mirrored Horizons’ experience, values have become so generic across people and businesses that they no longer provide information on what it is that differentiates one business or person from the next.

Cultural principles develop the common set of values into how you are going to practice and live by these every day, “actions speak louder than words.” Cultural principles become beacons that tell you when you are off track. They help to bring you back into alignment to live in accordance with who you are and what your purpose is.

Mirrored Horizons have developed our own set of Cultural Principles that demonstrate how we like to engage with people and what we like to receive from people in return. When Mirrored Horizons practice and live by our guiding principles daily, we are able to create spaces free of judgement and environments that are safe for sharing, learning and growing.

We embrace who we are

We are no more or no less than anyone. We create environments and practices that align and accommodate for the different values, priorities and strengths that everyone possesses.

We live for purpose

We choose active living over passive living. We live in the present. We know the direction we are heading and practice what we must do daily, weekly and monthly to get there.

We are courageously authentic

We are honest, transparent and considered in our interactions, practices, commitments and communications.

We create connections

We build relationships. We approach all differences with a curiosity to explore and understand. We treat all people with dignity and respect. We give each interaction the energy, attention and effort it deserves.

We nurture growth

We start with and focus our growth from a positive. We empower others. We are constantly learning. We can all succeed; we help others succeed and we celebrate everyone successes.

We appreciate

We show gratitude for what we have and are thankful for the differences in people’s background, experiences and opinions.

We find enjoyment

We know that positive energy is contagious. When we are enjoying ourselves, we feel energised. We laugh and know we don’t have to be perfect.

We know destinations are nothing without the journey’s

We know that people’s stories and pasts are what makes everyone uniquely different. We embrace each story with kindness and compassion. We stop to celebrate along the way, not just at the finish line.

We apply our Cultural Principles to both our personal development work and business consulting. So how can we help?
