We work collaboratively with you to empower ownership of your expertise, enabling you to put your best foot forward.

Our offerings vary based on the industry, level of experience and the position you are seeking. We can start with a simple review to provide you with recommendations for your existing assets or we can work with you to create your resume from a blank canvas.

Our steps that we undertake are specific to Mirrored Horizons and we do things a little differently.

  1. We begin with a fact-finding/introductory discussion (30 minutes-1 hour). We get to know you and gain insight into your objectives, direction, key achievements and the essence of you (your tonality, your values (guiding principles) etc). We admit, we get frustrated with generic resume writers and career coaches as we believe, whilst this process speaks to your professional experience, it doesn’t mean it has to lack authenticity in relation to who it belongs to.

  2. We provide you with our specifically designed model built on empowering you to unlock your full potential. This MH model will allow you to reflect on your career to date and begin to break down/articulate your personal brand. Involving this MH specific step gives us further insight into who you are as a person and the value you bring to any organisation.

  3. We facilitate a coaching exploration on potential opportunities and how to find opportunities aligned to your aspirations. For those of you who don’t know what the “right” next step may be/look like in your career, we expand on this model to begin to delve into your specific combination of interests, your values and your skills to begin to flesh out what direction would lead you on a path to long term fulfilment.

  4. Post gathering this essential information we begin to draft your bespoke resume and cover letter. Ideally this drafting is tailored specifically to a role you may be applying for; or it can be created as a foundation document, providing you with knowledge to shape it to various roles in the future.

  5. We work closely with you to ensure you are comfortable with your new assets and then move into walking you through the job application process!

We created this short video to help those in search of a job in these uncertain times. We were recently appointed to help one of our clients recruit for a part-time position in the outer suburbs of Melbourne and we were inundated with applications. This video is our way of potentially helping those thirteen hundred people who missed out on the position and will hopefully give those on the job search more confidence and knowledge when considering their future applications.

What is it like to look at yourself in the mirror and not like who you are becoming? I can tell you. Just a little over 12 months ago I was working in an environment where I sacrificed more than just my happiness. I sacrificed who I was and who I wanted to be. It was a gradual slip into the murky waters of compromising my values and undertaking work that no longer filled me with pride and fulfilment. I became the ‘anti-Emmaline.’ A paradoxical version of myself whom co-workers knew to be me, but someone I certainly didn’t recognise. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin.
